How Quanta Pharma MT2 Works

Quanta Pharma MT2 is a cyclic heptapeptide analogue of the naturally occurring alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It binds to melanocortin receptors, primarily MC1R, which are found on melanocytes in the skin. This binding triggers a cascade that increases the production of eumelanin, the brown-black pigment responsible for skin colour.

Unlike natural α-MSH which has a very short half-life, Quanta Pharma MT2 has been structurally modified to resist enzymatic degradation, giving it a much longer duration of action. This makes it particularly useful for research applications requiring sustained receptor activation.
